The New York Knicks are taking a whole new approach under head coach Mike Brown, and it may take them some time to put it all together, as they’ll experience some growing pains along the way.

Karl-Anthony Towns , one of the New York Knicks’ most valuable contributors last season, revealed he is uncertain about his role on the team in Brown’s high-octane offense during a recent press conference.

“Honestly, I don’t know. It’s just different. We’re still figuring it out,” Towns said via Knicks Videos on X (formerly known as Twitter). “I just go to score the ball if I get the ball, I’m just being aggressive in my play.”

“Stay in the present, don’t worry about all the chatter, all the noise outside. Just worry about what’s in the locker room, what we got accomplished, what we got to do, get better every day,” he added.

“It’s pretty easy because he’s open and willing to do everything,” Brown noted via Kristian Winfield of the New York Daily News. “If he was stubborn, it’d be a little tougher, but he’s not.”

The New York Knicks went 4-1 in preseason, and Towns did pretty well in his three appearances against the Philadelphia 76ers (twice) and Minnesota Timberwolves. The team will open its 2025-26 season against the Cleveland Cavaliers on October 22.
