Hornets Waive Bez Mbeng

The Hornets have waived shooting guard Bez Mbeng, the team announced ( via Twitter).

Charlotte signed the former Yale shooting guard earlier this month, presumably on an Exhibit 10 deal, though his G League rights are still controlled by the Sioux City Skyforce, meaning that for the 23-year-old to qualify for a bonus worth up to $91K, the Hornets’ G League affiliate, the Greensboro Swarm, would have to trade for him.

The 6’4″ guard played 15 games for the Jazz last season as a rookie, averaging 8.1 points, 4.1 assists to just 1.5 turnovers, and 2.3 steals, though he only shot 19.4% from three and 64.0% from the line.
