How should we take the Heat’s online LeBron blunder?

The Miami Heat have found themselves in an odd area of controversy. Yesterday, a post was uploaded to the team’s YouTube channel announcing an introductory press conference for LeBron James. The video was immediately taken down.

There are a few ways NBA fans can interpret this situation. Some think that LeBron’s decision has been made, and he will re-join the Miami Heat. Others assume this was a mistake made in preparation if LeBron decides to return.

It is very plausible that someone behind the scenes was preparing for a potential return and accidentally hit “post.” However, it is difficult to interpret this as a pure mistake.

Adam Silver already hates how long LeBron is taking, and now another controversy could cause the King to take even more time. This whole free agency situation feels more and more like a reality show by the day, as we all wait patiently for James to make a decision. Everyday, NBA fans go back and forth between the Cavs, Warriors, and Heat because of instances like this.

Silver would really like to know soon which team’s schedule will require adjustments, or he might end up putting an end to this reality show himself.
