Over the past two seasons, the Minnesota Timberwolves have been true contenders in the Western Conference. After making the Western Conference Finals in their second straight season, the T-Wolves are looking to make another leap. Anthony Edwards has improved his game in every season of his career. Julius Randle is back and sticking with the T-Wolves after a great year. And, Rudy Gobert is going to continue as their defensive anchor for the upcoming season. All signs are pointing to another great season from the T-Wolves. But what will they need to keep succeeding? Will Ant-Man continue to ascend into a top-five player? Is Julius Randle going to get better in another year with this team? This article will break down the T-Wolves’ fantasy outlook for the 2025-26 season.
Without a doubt, Anthony Edwards has ascended into one of the best players in the NBA. He has improved parts of his game in every season of his career. Last season, it was his three-point shooting. Edwards shot 39.5 percent from three, and improved his scoring to 27.6 points per game. The next step into improving Edwards’ fantasy value would be the playmaking. Edwards only averaged 4.5 assists per game last season, and that is a key part of his ascension into a top five player. Right now, Edwards is ranked as the 8th best fantasy player by ESPN. Is that too high of a price? For me, there might be a few players I would take ahead of him. But, I would still project Edwards as the best shooting guard in fantasy basketball. If you take a chance on Edwards early, you would love to see a playmaking leap.
To answer the question simply, I do think that Randle and Gobert are solid fantasy options. With Gobert, you have double-double upside in every game that he will play. On top of his shot-blocking, Gobert provides you with a very safe floor in fantasy basketball. He is currently ranked as the 65th best fantasy player, and the 16th best Center for fantasy basketball next season. I think that is around where he should be going. Considering the very limited upside, and the depth for the Center position, I would not be drafting Gobert any higher than this. But, I would be trying to scoop him up if he falls further than this.
As for Randle, I think that he is a bit better of a fantasy value. Ranked at 76th overall, Randle provides fantasy owners with above average production in about every category. Randle averaged 18.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game last season. This equated to 33.1 fantasy points, which was actually more fantasy points than Rudy Gobert. I think Randle provides a lot more upside compared to Gobert, and I would take Randle over Gobert. I would be smashing the draft button on Randle at his current value.
With the Timberwolves making no significant free agency moves, I believe they are counting on some of their younger players to thrive and improve next season. Nickeil Alexander-Walker gave this team great shooting, point of attack defense, and reliable playmaking. I think the T-Wolves are counting on Terrance Shannon Jr. and Rob Dillingham to fill that void. Shannon Jr. was already an impactful player for the T-Wolves last year, but Dillingham was a different story. He barely suited up for this team last year, and spent most of his time learning on the bench. Watch out for these two guys as some fantasy sleepers next season. I also think that Jaden McDaniels will take on a bigger offensive role.
Going into next season, I would expect the Timberwolves to provide some great fantasy value for teams. Headlined by the top shooting guard in the league, Anthony Edwards. Rudy Gobert is a solid draft choice, but Julius Randle is a great draft choice based on his current ADP. Jaden McDaniels should also be a solid fantasy role player, and also watch out for Terrance Shannon Jr., along with Rob Dillingham.
