The Denver Nuggets recently signed Christian Braun to a five-year, $125 million rookie extension, which keeps him under contract through the 2030-31 season.

Since being drafted by the Denver Nuggets in 2022, Braun has grown into one of their most important players. The former Kansas Jayhawk won his first NBA championship with the team in his rookie season and has eventually taken the starting shooting guard spot.

“It means the world to me. I think that it’s just validation at the end of the day,” Braun said via DNVR Nuggets. “The people that trusted in me, you know, I got drafted here. I never changed schools or teams in high school. I never changed in college. And I don’t want to change in the NBA. I want to be here. I want to be a big part of winning. I want to be a really big part of what happens here and the success that happens in Denver.”

“It’s cool to be a Nugget. I want to be a Nugget for my whole career, but I understand that to do that, we need to win. I think that signing the contract before the season started allows me to focus only on winning,” he added.

Denver Nuggets News: David Adelman dishes on Christian Braun’s new deal

David Adelman recently congratulated Christian Braun on his new contract with the Denver Nuggets, saying that he deserves it for his contributions to the organization.

“It’s cool to see someone develop here, go through the program, hang a banner,” Adelman said via Vic Lombardi of Altitude TV.  “This is what it’s about.”

Braun is coming off a career year in 2024-25, having averaged 15.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.1 steals on 58/40/83 shooting splits across 79 regular season appearances.
