The Chicago Bulls’ coaching search has a new name. Jerry Stackhouse.

Stackhouse has entered the mix as a legitimate candidate for the Bulls’ vacant head coaching position, according to multiple reports.

The former NBA All-Star and longtime assistant coach under Steve Kerr with the Golden State Warriors is now in consideration after leaving the Warriors this offseason. Stackhouse has spent the past few seasons on Kerr’s staff, where he earned praise for his defensive expertise and player development work.

Before joining Golden State, Stackhouse served as head coach at Vanderbilt for four seasons and previously led the Raptors 905 to a G League championship in 2017. As a player, he was a two-time All-Star and spent 18 seasons in the NBA, including a memorable run with the Detroit Pistons.

Bulls fans have been eagerly awaiting updates on the coaching search since Billy Donovan departed the team. Stackhouse would bring a mix of championship-level experience from Golden State, proven player development, and a strong defensive background, areas the Bulls have prioritized.

The Bulls have already interviewed several candidates, but Stackhouse’s addition to the list adds another intriguing name with both playing pedigree and modern coaching experience.
