In a fiery exchange on Instagram, Golden State Warriors star Jimmy Butler has responded to Draymond Green's recent jab following the Miami Heat's decision to trade forward Haywood Highsmith to the Brooklyn Nets.

The trade, reported by ESPN's Shams Charania, saw the Heat send Highsmith and a 2032 second-round pick to the Nets in exchange for a protected 2026 second-round pick.

The drama unfolded when Green, known for his outspoken nature, posted a cryptic five-word message, "Look what you've done Jimbo," implying Butler's off-season antics were to blame for Highsmith's departure.

Butler didn’t hold back, retorting with a sarcastic message: "Don't put that evil on me ricky bobby! I had nothing to do with it! let me live my offseason with my blonde weave in," accompanied by two laughing emojis.

Butler certainly added fuel to the drama by referencing Ricky Bobby, hinting at Green's playful yet pointed defense. His response suggests he’s unfazed, using humor to deflect while subtly challenging Green’s narrative.

For Heat fans, the trade raises questions about roster changes ahead of the season, with Highsmith’s departure signaling a potential shift in strategy.

While the antics are just for fun, Green and Butler do an incredible job at blending basketball with personal banter, turning what was a serious trade into an opportunity to roast each other.

While they don't agree on the causes of the Heat trade, both Green and Butler can certainly empathize with the fact that Highsmith was traded away from a team that he made meaningful contributions for over the recent years.
