John Stockton gets honest about players exchanging jerseys

John Stockton continues to express his opinions on today’s NBA. This time, he spoke about players exchanging jerseys after games.

“I’m a little offended by jersey swaps, frankly, the whole notion,” Stockton said. “I look at it as the jersey belongs to the team. And at the end of the season, if we were lucky enough, they would let us take a jersey home or something.

“But for the early part of my career, we were saving the jerseys for next year. I wore college jerseys for four years, so did the guys after me, wore the same jerseys. So I never thought it was mine to share.”

Stockton certainly holds that old school mindset. Unfortunately for the Utah Jazz legend, jersey swapping doesn’t appear to be ending anytime soon.
