John Wall Voted On Instagram That He Will Leave The Houston Rockets

It's always tough for competitive players to watch the decline of their careers. They feel like they still have a lot left in the tank and that they could be playing for a contender, yet they're kind of doomed to stay on bad teams due to their contracts.

That's the case with John Wall, who vowed to be back to his usual self this season, yet barely played at all due to multiple injuries and the fact that the Houston Rockets were blatantly tanking.

The Rockets aren't likely to compete any time soon, yet Wall still has two more years on his contract and he's expected to make over $90 million in that time.

Wall's massive deal is pretty tough to move, especially considering that he's been hurt for most of the past 3 years and no team is going to absorb a $40+ million contract for an injury-prone 30-year-old.

Then again, it seems like the former Washington Wizards star is determined to find his way out of Clutch City, as he recently participated on an Instagram poll claiming that he'll leave the Rockets.

For that to happen, the most likely scenario is to agree to a buyout. Then again, he'd have to give up a huge sum of money for the Rockets to allow him to walk out the door.

This season, Wall only made 40 appearances, averaging 20.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, 6.9 assists, 1.1 steals. and 2.0 three-pointers per game on 40/31/74 shooting splits, and while those numbers aren't bad at all, he's not going to live up to such a massive contract.

The Rockets will continue to favor young player development and that means that Wall is likely heading towards multiple DNPs next year as well, so we should follow his situation pretty closely as we enter the offseason.
