The New York Knicks have suffered an unwelcome blow during their first preseason friendly.
NBA preseason is underway and even before the games have begun, players have started picking up injuries in training camps.
The Dallas Mavericks saw Daniel Gafford go down with an ankle injury on day one of their training camp.
Now that games are getting underway, there are expected to be more unfortunate problems to hamper teams preparation for the big tip-off.
The New York Knicks have suffered a blow, with Josh Hart forced to exit during the first quarter of their friendly against the Philadelphia 76ers, that was taking place in Abu Dhabi.
Josh Hart suffered a lower back injury during the first quarter against the 76ers after collecting a rebound.
As he attempted to dribble the ball up the court, Hart went down untouched and in clear pain.
Knicks writer Steve Popper described: “Josh Hart slipped and looks like twisted his back – down on the floor for a while and now limping to the locker room with help.”

Josh Hart was already dealing with an injury heading into pre-season, following an operation on his finger.
Hart explained at media day that the operation did not fully work, and he would be forced to wear a splint on his right ring finger this season.
This latest back injury could be an even bigger problem. The full extent will become clear in the coming days.
