Josh Hart’s Eric Collins Comment Draws Attention to NBA Playoff Broadcast Changes

Josh Hart is doing everything right on the court and still finding time to call out what’s off it. Fresh off a clutch fourth-quarter takeover that powered the New York Knicks past the Boston Celtics, Hart’s voice carried beyond the box score. New York is chasing playoff positioning, but the conversation shifted from seeding to screens.

That Celtics win had layers. No Jaylen Brown on the floor, Jalen Brunson controlling tempo, and Karl-Anthony Towns stretching defenses. Hart closed it out with 15 fourth-quarter points. However, as the playoffs approach, something else is clearly bothering players and fans alike.

Hart took to X to criticize the new NBA playoff broadcast setup, which removes local announcers from the first round in favor of national partners like Prime Video and major networks. His frustration centered on not hearing Eric Collins during the Hornets’ play-in game.

“Not having the option to listen to Eric Collins tonight is terrible.”

Even veteran voice Mike Breen backed the sentiment, calling the shift a miss for fans who connect deeply with local broadcasts.

Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart Set the Tone as Knicks Gear Up for Playoffs

The New York Knicks are locking in at the perfect time, and the backcourt duo of Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart is driving the vibe. With Game 1 set for April 18 at Madison Square Garden, New York is coming in ready.

The first-round matchup against the Atlanta Hawks feels familiar. The Knicks already handled them earlier this month, and Brunson’s been on a scoring tear, dropping 26 a night. Hart’s heating up late, fresh off a 26-point night vs Boston, where his shooting changed the vibe to a tee.

However, Josh Hart’s value runs deeper, including rebounds, assists, and hustle plays. That balance is key as the Knicks chase a deeper run after last year’s exit to the Indiana Pacers.
