The Boston Celtics are expected to be without Jayson Tatum for (at least) most of the 2025-26 campaign due to a torn Achilles, but there’s a slight chance that he might suit up later in the season if things go according to plan.

Recently, Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown hosted a live stream on Twitch, and the 2024 NBA Finals MVP said he wouldn’t be surprised if Tatum could try to make a return at some point because of his positive progress.

“We’ll see when JT will come back. JT looked great, though, I’m not gonna lie. I have never seen anybody recover so fast from an Achilles injury, from any injury to that level,” Brown said about Tatum. “Shout out to JT. JT is superhuman. He’s on some Wolverine s**t.”

Last week, Tatum posted a video of himself doing basketball workouts without a cast or a walking boot. His return to the court is quite impressive because he is just five months removed from suffering the devastating injury.

Boston Celtics assistant drops Jayson Tatum warning for the rest of the league

Former NBA star and Boston Celtics assistant Sam Cassell strongly believes that Jayson Tatum will come back stronger than ever from his Achilles injury.

“He’s coming. Everybody’s counting him out. I don’t know his plan for returning this season, but I like what I see so far. He’s not on crutches, he’s not hopping around,” Cassell said about Tatum in a recent episode of 98.5 The Sports Hub.

“He’s active. Jayson Tatum, he heals fast. He’s not a guy who gets hurt and sits down. He may miss a day or two, but he doesn’t like missing games,” he added.
