Julius Randle has had a fantastic 2025 Playoffs, arguably playing as the Timberwolves' best player over Anthony Edwards. Of course, that is not an issue for them because they have stood out as the team's star players.

It has been a stellar run for the Timberwolves, but this has been a long time coming. Coach Chris Finch has challenged them at the start of the season to keep proving they deserved their Western Conference Finals run in 2024.

The Timberwolves have been the most impressive team of the 2025 Playoffs. They dispatched the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers in five games apiece, cementing their place atop the Western Conference.

They are now waiting for the winner between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Denver Nuggets. This is valuable time for the Timberwolves, as they can prepare for either of their opponents, giving Finch ample time.

Finch Always Had High Expectations For The Timberwolves

Since the Timberwolves made a blockbuster trade for Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo in the 2024 offseason, expectations were mixed. That was not the case for the team because Finch challenged the team from training camp.

It was disappointing that they started a bit slow, but Randle and DiVincenzo were trying to get adjusted to a new system on short notice. They finally hit their stride in the second half of the season.

The Timberwolves are still riding high on that momentum, especially after beating star-laden teams like the Lakers and Warriors. This is a testament to the team's roster building and Finch's motivational coaching.

"We've had a season full of adversity. Coach said it at the end of the regular season, we didn't do anything as far as trades or firing coaches, we just stuck together" Randle said about the Timberwolves. "We got through it together, so I'm super proud of our team. Everybody has stepped up in some type of way this year, we got win #8, we gotta keep going."

The Timberwolves Will Keep Working Hard To Win

It has been a long road for the Timberwolves, especially after the struggles during the first half of the season. They have been excellent in the second half, with players like Randle and Rudy Gobert showing considerable improvements.

The team is ready to keep competing at the highest level, which they will do in the Western Conference Finals. The Timberwolves are back as one of the top-four teams in the league, a place they know they belong in.

With a talented and well-coached team, the Timberwolves have a bright future. The NBA Finals is a big-time possibility because they have a chance at winning a series against the Thunder or Nuggets. Anything is possible now with the Timberwolves, especially with their momentum.
