The New York Knicks are still feeling the pain of their Eastern Conference finals exit after losing the series in six games to Tyrese Haliburton and the Indiana Pacers. But the support from New York fans during the Knicks’ playoff run is something worth remembering.
Throughout their time in the 2025 NBA Playoffs, the Knicks consistently got a major boost from their fans, including celebrities and former New York players.
Early on Monday, Towns shared an Instagram story post to show his appreciation to some of the celebrities who cheered on the Knicks.
“Generational Respect. Thank you,” Towns wrote in a message for hip-hop artists Rakim, Busta Rhymes, Styles P and Dave East.

All things considered, Towns had a solid campaign in his first season with Jalen Brunson and the Knicks, who benefited from his incredible abilities on offense. Traded by Minnesota to New York in 2024, the former Kentucky Wildcats star big man averaged 24.4 points and posted a 52.6 field goal percentage in 72 games for the Knicks in the 2024-25 NBA regular season.
In the 2025 NBA Playoffs, KAT averaged 21.4 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game, through 18 games.
Towns, who will be turning 30 in November, still has two more years on his contract before a player option could kick in for the 2027-28 campaign.
It will be interesting to see how his stint with the Knicks will go in the 2025-26 season, but for now, it’s a long offseason ahead for the former No. 1 overall NBA draft pick.
