After suffering a hand injury that sidelined him during a crucial stretch, Sixers’ Kelly Oubre Jr. candidly reflected on the situation, attributing it to karma for his previous experiences. Despite the setback, the Philadelphia 76ers wing remained hopeful about his recovery and eager to contribute to the team’s success moving forward.

In a highly anticipated matchup, Philadelphia faced off against the Phoenix Suns, ultimately falling 109-99 in a game that highlighted their ongoing struggles. Missing key players such as Joel Embiid and Kyle Lowry due to injuries, the team struggled to find their rhythm. Coach Nick Nurse emphasized the team’s need to adapt, especially in light of their recent performances.

The game began as a defensive battle, with both teams shooting poorly in the first half. The Suns, despite their struggles, managed to rally in the second half, outscoring Philadelphia 67-53. Phoenix’s adjustments, including moving Bradley Beal and Jusuf Nurkic to the bench, paid dividends as they unleashed a rejuvenated offense. Beal emerged as a standout, contributing 25 points off the bench and playing a crucial role in the Suns’ victory.

Oubre led the 76ers with a strong performance, recording 26 points and 11 rebounds. His efforts kept Philadelphia competitive, particularly during a late surge in the third quarter. However, despite Oubre’s contributions, the team’s overall lack of scoring depth was evident, as they managed only seven points from their bench, a stark contrast to the Suns’ 54 bench points.

Oubre’s latest injury led the Sixers star to drop a funny comment about his condition. His take can be seen in a tweet shared by Adam Aaronson on X.

Kelly Oubre Jr. says he suffered his hand sprain in the second half in Portland, when he notched a career-high eight steals.

“I don’t know, I guess it was karma for stealing so many passes.”

Tyrese Maxey also had a notable game, finishing with 31 points and 10 assists, but his production came too late to impact the outcome meaningfully. The Sixers played without the intensity needed to secure a win, especially in the final moments when the Suns expanded their lead.
