During his time Los Angeles Clippers, Kawhi Leonard with  led the team to just three playoff series wins in seven seasons. Despite multiple All-Star teammates and championship expectations, the Clippers never reached the NBA Finals and suffered multiple early exits.has been a disappointment.

The Clippers had an infamous 3–1 collapse against the Denver Nuggets and a 2026 play-in loss to the Golden State Warriors. The Clippers era fell far short of expectations.

Why Kawhi Leonard’s Clippers Era Failed

It has not gotten better for Leonard and the Clippers. Los Angeles shuffled their deck multiple times over the last three years to find the right Robin for Kawhi.

The Clippers had Paul George. Then, for a time, they had Leonard, George, and James Harden. Last season, they went with Kawhi and Harden.

This season, they went younger and faster and paired Kawhi with point guard Darius Garland. Different duos, different rosters, but all share the same ending.

This marked the first time the Clippers missed the playoffs during a season that Leonard played in. Kawhi has just one year left in his contract and will turn 35 this June.

Injuries and roster instability played a major role, but the results still fall short of expectations. There’s no other way to view Kawhi’s Clippers tenure—it never met championship expectations.

End Of My Kawhi Leonard Clippers Era Rant

This Warriors loss should not take away from the season that Leonard had. The Clippers were 6-21 at one point, and it looked like their season was over. Kawhi put that team on his back and dragged them to the play-in.

He ended the season averaging 28 PPG on 51% shooting. This was one of the best seasons of his career.
