Former NBA player Kendrick Perkins did not hold back in criticizing the Philadelphia 76ers president, Daryl Morey. The executive recently revealed that most front office staff around the NBA don't see the 2020 championship as "genuine."

Philadelphia 76ers president Daryl Morey caught a lot of flak recently with what he said about the 2020 NBA championship. During that season, the league shut down temporarily due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The season eventually resumed with 22 teams participating in the NBA Bubble, in the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort.

In the 2020 playoffs, the Los Angeles Lakers had a memorable run that led to a championship. However, given the situation the world was in at that time, some critics and fans think it's not a real title.

Kendrick Perkins Rips Daryl Morey For His NBA Bubble Take

In the recent episode of "Road Trippin'," Kendrick Perkins didn't hold back in calling out Morey. According to him, the executive has bigger problems than thinking about a championship that happened years ago.

"And last but not least, why is Daryl Morey even talking about this (expletive)? He had bigger things on his hands to worry about. Like one of your franchise guys, Joel Embiid, in an article that came out about three weeks ago basically called your (expletive) out."

"So you've got bigger things to worry about than to be worrying about a championship from (expletive) five or six years ago."

For Perkins, Morey should focus on better running an organization, following the exclusive interview with his franchise star, Joel Embiid. In the ESPN feature, the Cameroonian big man revealed a lot about what's happening inside the 76ers.

Daryl Morey Says He 'Respects' the 2020 Championship

Morey believes his comments about the 2020 championship were misinterpreted. The team president spoke to Anthony Irwin of ClutchPoints and defended what he said about the Lakers.

He claims that Morey is annoyed by the criticism he has received for remarks he made on the 2020 championship.

“I'm frustrated,” Morey said. “Of course, I respect that title. I defend it to people all the time. It's the thing I want the most.”

As the executive of the Houston Rockets during the NBA Bubble, Morey demonstrated to them his admiration for the title. According to him, if the Rockets had won the title at that time, he would've celebrated the way the Lakers did.
