The Phoenix Suns will host the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday night as they not only try to get back in the win column but also see their superstar forward Kevin Durant make NBA history, but will he play?
Durant did not show up on the Suns’ injury report, meaning that he will suit up Tuesday night against Memphis unless something happens before tipoff. The 36-year-old superstar will also have a chance to make NBA history on Tuesday as he sits just 26 points away from becoming the eighth player in NBA history to reach 30,000 career points.
Of course, Durant is averaging 26.9 points per game this season, which bodes well for his chase to reach 30,000 career points, and he will have a great shot to reach it at home on Tuesday.
While Durant will play in the game while on the brink of league history, the Suns will be without some of their key players. Bradley Beal remains out with a toe injury that has kept him out of Phoenix’s last two contests.
This is a major blow for the Suns, who will need all the offensive firepower available to keep up with the Grizzlies, who currently lead the NBA in points per game as a team.
Phoenix will also be without both Cody Martin and Vasilije Micic. The Suns acquired both of them from the Charlotte Hornets at the trade deadline, but neither has made their team debut yet. The Suns also have Grayson Allen listed as probable for Tuesday’s game, so it is likely that he will return after missing Phoenix’s last game with a knee injury.
For the Grizzlies, they will once again be without Johnny Davis and Marvin Bagley III, whom they acquired from the Washington Wizards at the deadline. Other than those players being out, Memphis will be fully healthy as they look to continue their incredible season on the road against the Suns.
Fans can catch Tuesday’s matchup between the Grizzlies and Suns at 10:00 p.m. EST on TNT as Durant looks to make NBA history.
