Kevin Durant is entering his 18th season in the NBA and first as a member of the Houston Rockets.
He is arguably the greatest pure scorer in league history and played for several other teams.
Durant was originally drafted second overall in 2007 by the Seattle Super Sonics but after the organization moved to Oklahoma City in 2008 to become the Thunder, he played eight seasons with the current NBA champions.
The 15-time NBA All-Star then played three seasons with the Golden State Warriors, three with the Brooklyn Nets and two and a half with the Phoenix Suns.
Durant, now 37 years old, spoke about his trade to Houston this offseason with Sports Illustrated's Chris Mannix.
In the discussion, Durant shared his intent to retire with the Rockets.
"I’m looking to be here as long as I can, play my last years of my career," says Durant. "That’s the intent. I know, I said that about Phoenix, too, but that’s the intent. I would love to do that. I mean, I’m 37 years old and I’m going on 19 years in the league. I want to be solidified in a spot and build with a team with a group of guys that’s going to be around for a while. So hopefully this is it."
Durant is set to lead a young Rockets team that finished second in the Western Conference standings last season at 52-30.
Unfortunately, they lost in the first round of the playoffs to the Golden State Warriors.
