Kevin Durant follows the NFL as closely as any NBA player out there. The Houston Rockets star has never been quiet about his love for football, particularly when it comes to the Washington Commanders.
He's been talking about that team for years, going way past casual fan territory. Washington went 5-12 this season, but Durant still paid attention to the 2025-26 NFL year.
One player caught his eye more than anyone else, someone who put together the kind of season Durant clearly appreciated. He recently appeared on FanDuel's "Up & Adams" and got the question about who he loved watching most this season. Durant was quick to respond.
"I'm gonna have to say Myles Garrett," Durant said. "Seeing him chase the sack record and just the moves he was making to get off the ball this year. Somebody who's always watching the skilled position players and finally starts watching the trenches a little bit more - been really impressed with how they moved down there. So, probably, Myles Garrett."

The Cleveland Browns went 5-12 just like Durant's Commanders, but Garrett turned their games into must-watch TV. What he did this year goes beyond just being good.
Garrett wrapped up his season by breaking the NFL single-season sack record in Week 18. That 23rd sack put him over the top. He beat his own Browns record from 2021, one he had tied the season after that.
He also passed Reggie White for most sacks by any player before turning 30. On top of that, Garrett led the entire league with 33 tackles for loss. That's a career best for him. But even after a season like that, there is still chatter about whether he'll stick around in Cleveland.
Kay Adams brought up the idea of Garrett leaving Cleveland during Durant's interview. His answer probably made Browns fans breathe a little easier.
"I just want to see him play football for as long as he can and continue to climb up the charts. I don't care what jersey he has on, he's one of the all-time great players I've ever seen already, and he's having that type of impact in the league," Durant said. "So, it's a business, man. You never know what can happen in this business. It's a crazy business.... Whatever jersey he has on, I know he's gonna do his thing."
Durant just wants to watch Garrett keep doing what he does, regardless of where he ends up. But Cleveland might have something brewing.
The Browns are potentially looking to rebuild their offense around QB Shedeur Sanders. They've got an elite defense, just brought in Todd Monken as head coach and Sanders sure has real potential. Maybe they figure out how to get Garrett into the playoffs next year.
