Being able to score at will is undoubtedly one of the most applauded qualities in NBA stars.

Oftentimes, the biggest stars in the league are phenomenal scorers, like Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant.

But when talking about the greatest scorers of all time, it’s hard to leave Houston Rockets superstar Kevin Durant off the list.

After all, the Slim Reaper has a career average of 27.2 points per game, and he has done that while being an elite three-level scorer as a 6’11” forward.

Kevin Durant responds to his position as a three-level scorer with Michael Jordan

Jordan holds the record for most scoring titles in NBA history, with 10 such accolades to his name. Evidently, MJ was a proficient scorer from anywhere on the court.

However, considering the three-point shot wasn’t as popular as today during Jordan’s era, the Chicago Bulls legend never really honed that skill.

As a result, when it comes to a three-level scorer, fans often argue that KD is better than the 6x NBA champ. One Jordan fan seemingly took offense to that, but Durant slammed the said fan with a quick reality check.

“Mike would tell you I’m a three-level scorer,” Durant responded on X.

It’s not that Jordan wasn’t capable of going off from deep, as evidenced by the iconic ‘Shrug Game,’ but when it comes to consistency, Durant is certainly better.

After all, Mike shot just 32.7% from the three-point line while Durant is a 39.0% three-point shooter for his career.

Kevin Durant had an elongated debate with a Michael Jordan fan

In recent times, the Jordan fandom has somewhat turned against Durant. After all, KD previously called out MJ’s three retirements during his career.

Coming back to the three-level scorer, it isn’t restricted to just the three-point line. No one is doubting Mike’s ability to score and create in the paint and mid-range.

But it’s key to note that the Bulls legend wasn’t simply as good as Durant from deep. Despite that, the fans posted another highlight package to bolster his point.

KD simply responded: “MJ is one of one. Rare air that can’t be touched but I’ve made those same shots for over a decade lol.”

At the end of the day, the fan needs to understand that to praise Jordan doesn’t mean to downplay the achievements of other NBA stars. In this case, it was Durant.
