Kings rookie lottery pick Devin Carter is slated to go under the knife for left shoulder surgery, sources inform Shams Charania of The Athletic (X link).
Per Charania, the 6-foot-2 point guard is set to have the surgery next week. An exact recovery timeline is not yet known, although his availability for the beginning of 2024/25 is said to be in question.
It had been reported that the former Providence guard would sit out both the California Classic and Las Vegas Summer League due to the ailment.
The 2023-24 Big East Player of the Year, Carter averaged 19.7 points on a .473/.377/.749 slash line, 8.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.0 blocks across 33 contests for the Friars last year, all starts.
