The Sacramento Kings are keeping Killian Hayes around a little longer.
The Kings signed Hayes to a second 10-day contract after his initial deal expired Wednesday night, according to the NBA’s official transaction log.
Hayes appeared in five games during his first stint, averaging 2.2 points and 3.4 assists in 13 minutes off the bench. The 24-year-old struggled to find his shot, going four of 27 from the field.
A former No. 7 overall pick in 2020, Hayes spent most of his first four NBA seasons with Detroit. He has since bounced between the G League and short-term NBA deals.
His second 10-day contract runs through Sacramento’s next five games. If the Kings want to keep him beyond that, they would need to sign him for the rest of the season.
