Sacramento Kings super fan Devlin Carter was ejected from Wednesday night’s 112-100 loss to the Phoenix Suns after getting into a verbal exchange with Kings guard Zach LaVine. Videos of the incident, which showed Carter calling out LaVine for his defensive effort, went viral quickly.

Carter, a successful shoe designer with over 500,000 followers on Instagram, shared his side of the story in a video post that made it’s rounds on social media.

“After the sixth time Zach LaVine leaves his man wide open for a three… I say ‘Yo, we do not pay to watch you not play defense,'” Carter said. “He looks at me and says ‘Then go home n—a.'”

According to Carter, he responded by calling out LaVine’s effort, saying “No, I pay to be here. You go home. You get paid over 40 million dollars. You didn’t show up. Once again, you didn’t show up.”

He also apologized to his wife, who was at the game with him, as well as the security employees for having to escort him out of the arena.

Truthfully, Carter’s points hold validity as the Kings are 13th in the West with a 5-13 record on the season.
