The New York Knicks have yet to learn their 2026 NBA Finals opponent. New York will be taking on the winner of the Western Conference Finals series between the Thunder and the Spurs.

New York, which swept Cleveland in the Eastern Conference Finals, is playing in the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999. The Knicks' last championship came in 1973. New York City has been waiting a long time for a team like this.

Madison Square Garden will be packed to the rafters during the NBA Finals. The cheapest tickets on the secondary markets are more than $3,000.

But New York is doing what it can to let underprivileged fans attend the NBA Finals, as well.

New York announced that it is donating hundreds of tickets to underprivileged children for the NBA Finals.

Madison Square Garden announced that tickets will be donated to the Garden of Dreams Foundation Youth, which will receive 250 tickets per home game – totaling at least 500 tickets across Games 3 and 4 – and 750 tickets if there is a Game 6.

“We are proud to create meaningful, once-in-a-lifetime experiences for underprivileged youth in our local communities,” said Rich Constable, EVP, Global Head of Government Affairs & Social Impact, MSG Entertainment. “Making sure underserved youth are part of the Knicks Finals run is extremely important to the Knicks, ensuring the next generation of fans gets to be part of the story.”

Game 1 of the 2026 NBA Finals is scheduled for Wednesday, June 3. New York's first home game will come on Monday, June 8 at Madison Square Garden.
