The City of New York has been wild during its 2026 NBA playoffs run. The New York Knicks are currently on a 12-game postseason winning streak. They traveled to the Frost Bank Center to face the San Antonio Spurs for Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Wednesday.
The Eastern Conference Champions got the best of their Western counterparts, winning 105-95. Jalen Brunson led the way for the Knicks with 30 points, three rebounds, and two assists.
Karl-Anthony Towns had 18 points and 12 rebounds, while OG Anunoby scored 17 points. Landry Shamet contributed off the bench with 13 points on 55.6% field-goal shooting.
After their Game 1 win, fans were partying on the streets of New York. One fan was even arrested by the police after getting too excited with his postgame celebrations.

The fan climbed up the pole and raised his fist in celebration, hyping up the fellow Knicks fans below. However, he was immediately approached by the New York City Police and was taken away.
New York has been dominant this postseason, and its citizens have never been extremely excited.
They last lost a game on April 24, 2024, during their first-round matchup against the Atlanta Hawks. Since then, they have been riding high.
The Knicks swept the Philadelphia 76ers in the East semis. They went on to dominate the Cleveland Cavaliers in four games in the Conference finals to secure their NBA Finals spot.
The Mecca of basketball hasn’t experienced this level of success since 1999, the last time they went to the NBA Finals. This explains why the city is going crazy every time the Knicks win a game.
This might just be the tip of the iceberg for New York fans, as they have yet to play a home game. The Knicks will host the Spurs for Game 3 of the NBA Finals. This will be the first NBA Finals in Madison Square Garden in 27 years.
