Knicks, Grizzlies soliciting even more draft trade offers

The New York Knicks and Memphis Grizzlies have turned the second night of the NBA Draft into a live marketplace. The latest NBA Draft trade buzz now centers on New York’s No. 31 pick and Memphis’ No. 32 pick, while every Knicks trade angle points toward future assets. ESPN’s Shams Charania reported the latest trade buzz, writing, “Memphis, like the Knicks at No. 31, is actively fielding offers to move the No. 32 pick for Night 2 of the draft, per sources. So picks 31 and 32 are up for auction in trades around the NBA — with future assets being proposed.”

That changes the feel of the board fast. The first two picks of the second round now carry real value because teams had all night to reset. Front offices can study who slipped, agents can work the phones, and fans can dream about a surprise swing. Under the NBA draft lights, every call matters.

New York already made its direction clear earlier today. According to Charania, the Knicks added Phoenix’s No. 47 pick to their second-round stash, giving them Nos. 31, 47, and 55 for Wednesday night. They have also received offers involving future draft assets for No. 31 and plan to move the pick before Night 2 begins.

Knicks and Grizzlies turn NBA Draft second round into trade stage

The Knicks have worked the board hard. According to Charania, New York sent No. 25 pick Sergio De Larrea to the Mavericks for No. 30 pick Koa Peat and two second-rounders, then moved Peat to the Suns for three more second-round picks and cash. That pushed the Knicks out of the first round while adding five second-rounders and extra money.

Meanwhile, the Grizzlies have played the same asset game. Memphis moved back twice from No. 16, first sliding to No. 17 in a deal with Oklahoma City before moving again to No. 21 in a trade with Detroit. The Grizzlies dropped only five spots and still walked away with five future second-round picks.

That is not a quiet draft strategy, it is asset hunting. Now, the next question is simple: who blinks first before Night 2 begins?
