The New York Knicks are coming off an incredible season that saw them finish third in the Eastern Conference standings and then make a run to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2000.
Despite their success last season, it has been an interesting offseason for the Knicks thus far as they began it by firing head coach Tom Thibodeau.
With the Knicks still searching for a new head coach, they have had interviews with many different candidates but their priority over the last week has been the 2025 NBA Draft.
Of course, New York held only one selection in the draft which was the 50th overall pick that they ended up sending to the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday night during the second round for the 51st pick and cash considerations.
They then used the 51st selection to draft French forward Mohamed Diawara in a surprising move as he was expected to go undrafted by many different insiders.

Pate was projected to be a first-round pick last season after committing to play for the Ignite at only 17 years old in 2023, becoming the youngest professional basketball player in United State history.
He then played for the Mexico City Capitanes in the G League last season and was projected to be a late second-round pick before he eventually went undrafted.

Last season, Pate averaged 10.1 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game while shooting 40.7% from the field and 25.8% from three.
The 6-8 forward has a high upside after two solid seasons in the G League and he will now head to New York where the Knicks hope to develop both him and Diawara into key pieces of their future.
