Washington Wizards rookie Kyshawn George has knocked down 100 3-pointers in just his 59th game. He now holds the record for the fastest Wizards rookie to reach 100 3-pointers, breaking Bradley Beal’s record of 60 games.
George achieved the milestone in the Wizards’ 129-125 win over the Detroit Pistons. He scored nine points on 3-of-6 from downtown and had four rebounds, three steals, and one assist. George’s contributions were critical in snapping the Wizards’ two-game skid.
This is Kyshawn’s second milestone in a three-game span. In their 119-104 loss to the Toronto Raptors, the Swiss-Canadian baller notched a career-high five blocks.
The rookie forward has blocked three or more shots six times this season, showcasing his defensive tenacity. Analysts have praised his defensive instincts, which greatly help in Washington’s quest to become a playoff contender. Kyshawn’s defensive abilities have been highlighted since the departure of Kyle Kuzma, whom analysts felt was a liability on defense.
The 6’8” swingman was picked 24th overall in the 2024 NBA Draft by the New York Knicks and was later traded to the Wizards for the 26th and 51st overall picks. So far, Kyshawn is averaging 8.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.4 assists, across 27.0 minutes.
