Lakers Injury Report: LA Starter Departs Denver Game After Rolling Ankle
Sam Sharpe-USA TODAY Sports

Second-year Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard Max Christie drew the start for tonight's home game against the Denver Nuggets, after starting point guard D'Angelo Russell was a late scratch with a sore left knee.

Unfortunately, with just 4:13 left in the second quarter, Christie landed on the ankle of Denver guard Reggie Jackson, rolling it in the process. He's been playing well, recording seven points and hitting two of his three three-point attempts along with providing some solid defense prior to the injury.

He proceeded to stay in the game to shoot a pair of free throws (so that he could return to the game later if physically able), but following that, was clearly too injured to continue playing and went directly to the locker room.

Should he be ruled out for the night, a Christie absence represents a tough loss for the Lakers, who are already missing three bench guys in Jarred Vanderbilt, Cam Reddish and Gabe Vincent, but perhaps Christie's ailment isn't too severe.

We should expect updates shortly, but anything more serious than a sprained ankle (few weeks of a timetable) would be incredibly surprising.

At the half, Denver leads LA by ten points, 59-49.
