The Los Angeles Lakers have had an underwhelming offseason, to say the least. They were expected to make big moves this offseason; however, they had done very little to establish themselves as a top-tier team heading into the upcoming season as things stand.

While this is the case, the Lakers still have one of the best players in the world on their team, Luka Doncic. Doncic will soon head into his first full season in the purple and gold, and the excitement is palpable.
The 26-year-old superstar has faced criticism over the years regarding his weight and conditioning, even with his elite skill set never in doubt. It’s been a recurring narrative tied to his name.
But that conversation seems to be shifting quickly as Doncic’s dramatic body transformation this summer continues to draw attention.
A new video of him surfaced recently, and once again, fans are raving about his improved shape and dedication to staying ready.

The Slovenia superstar appears to have taken his offseason training seriously and seems to have sheeded a few pounds. Many experts, analysts and fans have made fun of Doncic and his weight, and it appears that he is doing all he can to get rid of that chatter.
The Lakers and Doncic were ridiculed by the way the season ended. They did not play their best basketball, and with Doncic being the focal point of the team, he took a ton of heat.
It was evident that Doncic was never quite at full strength following the calf injury he sustained while still with the Mavericks. Despite that, expectations surrounding him remain sky-high.
The former 2018 lottery pick is coming off a season in which he missed a career-high 32 games, largely due to that lingering calf issue. After a month-long absence, he eventually suited up for 28 games in the purple and gold.
In the second half of the season with the Lakers, Doncic still put up big numbers — averaging 28.2 points, 8.1 rebounds, 7.5 assists, and 1.6 steals per game while shooting 43.8 percent from the floor and 37.9 percent from beyond the arc in 35.1 minutes of action.
Although the Lakers made minimal moves this offseason, having a superstar like Doncic on the roster naturally raises expectations. When you have a player of his caliber, the standard is nothing short of being a contender.
