On Monday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers are playing the Houston Rockets (at home).

LeBron James had five points, two rebounds and one block while shooting 2/5 from the field and 1/3 from the three-point range in his first 14 minutes of playing time.

He also made a tough shot that got a lot of views on social media.

James entered play with averages of 24.5 points, 8.1 rebounds, 8.5 assists and 1.0 steals per contest while shooting 51.1% from the field and 37.3% from the three-point range in 63 games.

Via Jovan Buha of The Athletic: "First quarter: Rockets 19, Lakers 16

That was a rock fight of a quarter. Neither team shot better than 32%. LA is 2-for-14 (14.3%) on 3s. Luka has 6/4/3. DFS has 6 points. Sengun has hurt the Lakers inside. A looooot of Dillon Brooks (1-5 FGs), though, which is good for LA."

The Lakers (fourth seed) and Rockets (second seed) are separated by just 3.5 games in the standings.

They will have one more matchup later this month.

Via ESPN's Dave McMenamin: "The Lakers, coming off 134 points vs. MEM, and the Rockets, coming off 148 points vs. PHX, are in a defensive battle early. HOU leads 19-16 after 1Q. L.A. shooting 6-for-25 (24%); Houston shooting 8-for-25 (32%)."

The Lakers have a 45-29 record in their first 74 games.

They will remain at home to play the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night.
