LeBron James makes his Heisman Trophy pick very clear

As far as LeBron James is concerned, the Heisman Trophy conversation in the 2026 college football season is practically over.

The Philadelphia 76ers superstar forward has long been known as a huge supporter of the Ohio State Buckeyes football squad, and he surely loved what he saw from Ryan Day’s team on Saturday against the Iowa Hawkeyes, especially from star wide receiver Jeremiah Smith.

“THROW IT TO 4!” the four-time NBA Most Valuable Player wrote on X, referring to Smith, who had another incredible individual day.

James’ post also included a “Heisman” hashtag just to further underscore what he really thinks about Smith’s greatness.

Smith’s performance in the Buckeyes’ 31-14 win over Iowa makes it even harder for people to argue against James’ point.

The junior wideout torched the Hawkeyes for 206 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 11 receptions.

It was a historic night as well for Smith, who tied the Ohio State program record for most career receiving touchdowns with his first score of the game before setting a new mark with his second.

Smith will one day become a pro, and it’s clear what kind of career James expects the wide receiver to have in the NFL.

For now, the 76ers vet and the rest of Ohio State football nation can keep enjoying watching Smith light up opposing defenses in the college ranks.
