LeBron James talked trash to Dalton Knecht because of Ohio State's blowout win against Tennessee

Saturday night was a rough one for Tennessee Vols fans everywhere.

Tennessee's 2024 season came to an end thanks to a 42-17 loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes in the first round of the College Football Playoff.

Vols fans who made the trip to Columbus heard plenty of trash talk from Buckeyes fans as they made their way out of Ohio Stadium late Saturday night.

2,000 miles west in Sacramento, former Tennessee basketball standout Dalton Knecht had to hear some trash talk from Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James, an Ohio native who roots for the Buckeyes.

James paused during his post-game interview to let Knecht know that Ohio State was up 21-0 on Tennessee.

"Hey DK, 21-0, don't worry about it," hollered James across the locker room while clapping.

Ouch. That's a tough one for Knecht. I'm sure he didn't expect to leave the court and find out that the Vols were getting blown out in the first half against the Buckeyes. LeBron, one of the greatest athletes of all time, talking a little trash about the game just added insult to injury for Knecht.

It was a great season overall for the Vols (wins against Alabama and Florida in the same season have been rare for Tennessee over the last two decades), but the way it ended will sting for a while for UT fans.
