We never really know what LeBron James is up to until he comes out and says it. Sometimes, he prefers not to say it and keep us guessing for a while.
Welcome to the NBA in 2025. Much like it’s always been for James.
Anyway, LeBron fueled speculation and got the rumor mill churning (even more than usual) by tweeting out that “The Second Decision” is coming Tuesday. That’s all we know.
Many believe that this will be an announcement that James is retiring — either tomorrow or at the end of the year. Many have been wrong about LeBron before, and likely will be again. Maybe not on this, though.
The decision of all decisions. October 7th. 12pm EST.

James turns 41 years old in late December. He is still among the top 15-20 players in the NBA. Some will tell you he’s still in the top 10 and that too would be hard to argue.
Either way, the Lakers are now Luka Doncic‘s team, and James is on board with that. They will go only as far as Doncic and James can carry them. At 40 years old, that’s a heavy load to shoulder for James.
Maybe this is the end. Maybe it’s the beginning of the end. Maybe it’s nothing. With LeBron, we just never know.
