Luka Doncic played just half a season with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2024-25, having been traded from the Dallas Mavericks in a package centered around Anthony Davis. He averaged 28.2 points, 8.1 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 1.6 steals in 28 games, helping lead L.A. to the third seed in the West.
Now that he's entering his first full season with the Lakers, Doncic appears to be more motivated than ever to improve his game and help the franchise contend for a title.
Not only did Doncic work on his conditioning during the offseason, but he also stayed in game shape by playing for Slovenia in the 2025 EuroBasket.
As the Lakers prepare for the 2025-26 campaign, Doncic has also made a move to help improve his bond with his Purple and Gold teammates.
According to Dave McMenamin of ESPN, "Luka Doncic organized a team bonding event after practice today at the Porsche Driving Experience, sources told ESPN. Each Lakers player will get their choice of three different cars to test out on the tracks."
Doncic has yet to play in the preseason with the Lakers due to a calf injury, but clearly, he has found his own way to better connect and build chemistry with his teammates.
It will definitely be interesting to see what Doncic can do in his first full year as a Laker and after an offseason of working with his new teammates.
The 2025-26 NBA season kicks off on Oct. 21, with the Lakers facing the Golden State Warriors in the season opener.
