Luka Doncic Questions 16th Technical Foul With Confused Reaction

Luka Doncic is proving that the loss against the Detroit Pistons was just a bad day in the office. Winning their second consecutive game after the Pistons’ mishap, the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Brooklyn Nets 116-99. However, despite another strong showing from the Lakers’ star, Doncic left with a sour taste in his mouth. 

The 27-year-old has been getting involved in some controversies lately. But what happened during the game against the Nets will keep JJ Redick and the team concerned. During the third quarter, the 6-time NBA All-Star was booked by the referee for illegally pushing Ziaire Williams. Officials immediately slapped him with a double technical foul, marking his 16th of the season. This means that Doncic will be missing the Lakers’ next game. 

Speaking on the incident, the 2019 NBA Rookie of the Year said, “He was yelling in my face three times. I just wanted to get out of there. It’s a double tech, of course. What can I say? I didn’t even talk. I just wanted to get out of there. (The referee) said my push was exaggerated, which (it) was obviously not. I don’t know what else to say.”
