Mavericks' Message to Dirk Nowitzki on Thursday Has Caught Attention

The Dallas Mavericks are a major topic of discussion around the NBA due to holding the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft. In just one week, it is expected that Cooper Flagg will be the newest member of the franchise.

After trading way Luka Doncic, winning the draft lottery was a huge gift for general manager Nico Harrison and the Mavericks. Flagg has potential generational talent and could help the team move forward from the sadness of moving Doncic.

On Thursday, Dallas showed honor to a former franchise legend. Dirk Nowitzki is one of the names that comes to mind immediately when talking about the Mavericks.

Nowitzki's birthday has arrived and the team sent out a message to the legendary forward on social media.

Even though he has been retired since the 2018-19 season, Nowitzki is still a fan favorite. He has already received a lot of well wishes and messages from Dallas fans.

"Happy Birthday to my boy!" one fan commented.

Another fan said, "The Fans That Are Still Crying Under This Post Are Luka Stans Not Mavs Fans HBD Dirk."

"My goat," a third comment read.

A fourth fan chimed in, "To the one and only! We love you, Dirk!"

"Happy birthday Dirk and MANY MANY more Sir!!!" another fan wrote.

Nowitzki will receive a lot of love from the Mavericks' fan base throughout the day.

During his career, Nowitzki played all 1,522 games with Dallas. He finished with career averages of 20.7 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.4 assists, while shooting 47.1% from the floor and 38% from 3-point distance.
