With the Chicago Bulls moving in a new direction this offseason, the roster will see a lot of changes. Bryson Graham and his staff will look to re-shape the roster in hopes of speeding up this rebuild.
Chicago has two picks in the first round of the upcoming 2026 NBA Draft, picking No. 4 and No. 15. After that, there’s the free agency period where the Tar Heels have a healthy cap situation to make some moves. But one area could be through a trade and already there is a rumor that one of their players is being targeted by a Western Conference team.
The Chicago Bulls made the decision to sign Josh Giddey to a big deal ahead of the 2025-26 season. Giddey was acquired by the Bulls via Oklahoma City in a deal that also included Alex Caruso.
But with a new regime in charge, nothing is off the table in terms of the Bulls roster and a new report suggests that a team could be pursuing Giddey from Chicago.
Darren Wolfson of 5 Eyewitness News and SKOR North reported on Friday that Giddey is a player of interest for the Timberwolves:
Another player of interest to the Wolves, per multiple league contacts: Bulls guard Josh Giddey. Just not sure how you pry him out of Chicago, and I like his fit with new coach Tiago Splitter.

Wolfson’s report is interesting because he notes he doesn’t know how the Timbewolves would pry him out of Chicago. That suggests that Chicago could keep him in their plans with new head coach Tiago Splitter. While it’s early in the Splitter era, we don’t know how anyone fits including Giddey.
But if the Timberwolves do call and make an offer, the Bulls certainly have to at least listen and see what they can get to potentially speed up this rebuild.
