Mock Trade Sends Suns' Jalen Green to Nets for Former Nuggets Champion

The Phoenix Suns entered the NBA offseason expected to make major changes to their roster and that is exactly what they have done.

Phoenix began the offseason by trading Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets for a package centered around Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks and the 10th overall pick in the 2025 draft they used to select Khaman Maluach.

They also acquired Mark Williams from the Charlotte Hornets to upgrade their frontcourt and bought out Bradley Beal’s contract, leaving Devin Booker as the lone star left of their big three.

Of course, Booker is set to be a key piece of Phoenix’s rebuild, especially after they signed him to a massive contract extension this summer.

While the Suns have made some major changes to their roster thus far, more moves could be on the way with them still having multiple players in trade rumors.

Suns predicted to trade Jalen Green to Nets for Michael Porter Jr.

Because of this, Bleacher Report’s Zach Buckley recently released a mock trade that has the Suns sending Green to the Brooklyn Nets for a former champion with the Denver Nuggets.

In the trade, Phoenix would send Green to Brooklyn in exchange for Michael Porter Jr. and a first-round pick in both 2027 and 2032.

This would be an interesting trade for both teams to make, especially with both franchises acquiring the key players of this deal this offseason.

For the Suns, it would be hard to imagine them trading Green before he suits up for the team after they acquired him from the Rockets earlier this offseason as part of the Durant trade.

Despite this, there are major questions regarding his fit next to Booker in the backcourt entering the new season and many around the NBA believe that it would be better for them to trade him.

If they were to do so in this deal with the Nets, they would be adding a great scoring forward in Porter Jr. to their lineup who is still only 27 years old along with two first-round picks that they could desperately use for their rebuild.

While that may be the case, the Suns could also hold off on this deal due to Porter Jr.’s injury history, though he could be a better fit than Green in their lineup alongside Booker, Brooks and Williams.

Despite this, it appears as though the Suns are set to at least see how their new backcourt duo of Booker and Green work out together this season before they decide to make another major change to their lineup, meaning they would likely hold off on this trade.
