We're still months away from the start of the 2025-26 NBA season, which will tip off on Oct. 21. However, it won't be much longer before NBA fans all over the world get to spend hours upon hours messing with the new rosters.
NBA 2K26 will come out on Sep. 5, and as shown by Legion Hoops on X, they just revealed the ranking for the top-10 players.
BREAKING: NBA2K26 ranks the top 10 NBA players:
— Legion Hoops (@LegionHoops) August 21, 2025
Nikola Jokic: 98
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander: 98
Giannis Antetokounmpo: 97
Luka Doncic: 95
Anthony Edwards: 95
LeBron James: 94
Steph Curry: 94
Jayson Tatum: 94
Victor Wembanyama: 94
Kevin Durant: 93 pic.twitter.com/tkwDQezxVA
As the reigning MVP, scoring champion, and Finals MVP, it only makes sense that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander gets the nod as the highest-ranked player in the video game. As for Nikola Jokic, he was the MVP runner-up, and he's been named the best player in basketball three times in the past five years.
As for veterans like LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant, it's remarkable to see that they're still near the top of the leaderboard after all these years, and that speaks volumes about their durability and unmatched work ethic. Hopefully, they'll stay healthy this season to keep adding to their legacies.
Of course, that will always lead to some debate and controversy online. Then again, the platform constantly updates the rankings based on real-life gameplay, so there's a chance that the list will look quite different by the end of the regular season.
This version of NBA 2K will also debut a new feature. For the first time, players will be able to use both NBA and WNBA players together in the MyTEAM mode, opening the door for the ultimate matchups with players like Caitlin Clark and Stephen Curry in the backcourt.
