The Atlanta Hawks are on the clock in less than a week, and unlike most years, there’s no heavy favorite among the NBA Draft odds for who will go No. 1 overall.
Victor Wembanyama (-20000) in 2023, Cade Cunningham (-8000) in 2021 and Zion Williamson (-2000) in 2019 were all massive favorites to be selected with the first pick in recent years. Paolo Banchero (-200) in 2022 and Anthony Edwards (-240) in 2020 were also comfortable favorites.
However, this year’s race to be the No. 1 overall pick is seemingly coming down to the wire. France’s Alexandre Sarr — a center/forward who most recently played for the Perth Wildcats of the Australian National Basketball League — was a -280 favorite at FanDuel when Atlanta won the Draft lottery. Meanwhile, fellow Frenchman Zaccharie Risacher — a forward who played for LNB Pro A team Mincidelice JL Bourg in his native country — was a distant second (+480). However, that’s changed as the weeks have gone on, as Risacher is now favored to be the first player taken.
The uncertainty makes for an intriguing draft in which the first four overall picks all seem to be up for grabs. Here are the latest NBA Draft odds for each of the top four picks at FanDuel as of June 20.
