NBA Makes OKC Thunder Announcement Ahead of Suns Game
© Alonzo Adams-USA TODAY Sports

The Oklahoma City Thunder are on the road on Wednesday night as they look to keep things rolling against the Phoenix Suns.

Wednesday’s contest marks the second night of a back-to-back for the Thunder after they pulled off an impressive victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday.

Tuesday’s victory was Oklahoma City’s 13th win in their last 14 games and they will look to grab another one on Wednesday night against a Suns team that is amid a seven-game losing streak.

Of course, Wednesday’s matchup is a massive one for the Suns as they try to avoid being eliminated from the playoffs with a loss.

Oklahoma City also has something at stake during Wednesday’s game as the NBA announced that with a victory over the Suns, the Thunder would clinch home-court advantage throughout the playoffs.

The Thunder have already clinched home-court advantage through the Western Conference playoffs but if they are able to defeat the Suns on Wednesday, they would make sure that they have home-court advantage in the NBA Finals if they are able to get there.

Oklahoma City has been dominant at home this season as they have a 35-6 home record, which is the best in the NBA.

They have also dominated their way through the Eastern Conference this season as the Thunder finished with a 29-1 record against East teams, which is the best record in NBA history for a team against teams from the other conference.

Of course, the Thunder’s only loss to the Eastern Conference came against the Cleveland Cavaliers, who have locked up the top seed in the East standings and still have slim hope of clinching home-court advantage throughout the playoffs.

Despite this, it is likely just a matter of time before the Thunder lock up home-court advantage throughout the playoffs though they will have to do so on Wednesday against the Suns without their star point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander who is out due to injury.

Fans can catch Wednesday’s matchup between the Thunder and Suns at 10:00 p.m. EST.
