Russell Westbrook is playing in his first season with the Sacramento Kings, having signed with the West Coast team late in the offseason.
Westbrook is widely considered one of the best guards in NBA history. He made the move to the Kings after spending one season with the Denver Nuggets.
Early in the season, while Westbrook was looking to lead Sacramento to victory, the All-Star guard climbed up the leaderboard in all-time regular-season steals.
Westbrook stands at No. 15 on the NBA's all-time steals list.
In a matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder, the NBA announced that Westbrook passed Derek Harper for the 15th-most steals in NBA history (1,958). Westbrook stands 25 steals behind No. 14 on the list, Allen Iverson.
"Congrats to @russwest44 of the @SacramentoKings for moving into 15th on the all-time STEALS list," posted the official social media account of the NBA.
