Bulls

The Bulls are off to their best start since 2021-22, improving to 3-0 with a 128-123 win over the Hawks.

Josh Giddey continues to look like a man on the rise, finishing with 18 points, 13 rebounds, and five assists, as relayed by ESPN’s Olgun Uluc. Through three games, he’s averaging 19.3 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 6.3 assists while shooting 41.6 percent from deep.

Ayo Dosunmu hit 4-of-6 from three and scored 21 points, while Nikola Vucevic nearly posted a triple-double with 17 points, 17 rebounds, and nine assists.

It’s early, but there’s no denying the Bulls have beaten three solid Eastern Conference opponents out of the gate.

76ers

Tyrese Maxey and rookie guard VJ Edgecombe are carrying the Sixers to a surprising 3-0 start. The duo combined for 69 points and 15 assists in a 136-124 win over the Magic, as noted by ESPN’s Tim Bontemps.

Maxey erupted for 43 points, while Edgecombe added 26.

Per StatsWilliams (via Bontemps), Maxey and Edgecombe have combined for 186 total points through three games — the most by any starting backcourt to open a season since the NBA began tracking starters in 1970-71.

Orlando’s Paolo Banchero had 32 points, seven rebounds, and five assists in the loss, as the Magic dropped to 1-3.

Spurs

It’s safe to say Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs are rolling. San Antonio improved to 4-0 after taking down the Raptors, with the Wemby posting 24 points, 15 rebounds, two steals, and a block, via Paul Garcia of The Spot Up Shot.

Stephon Castle added 22 points, Harrison Barnes scored 18 with five assists, and Devin Vassell contributed 15 points, five boards, and five assists.

Rookie Dylan Harper finished with 11 points, six rebounds, and six assists, while Julian Champagnie nearly notched a double-double (nine points, nine boards).

The Spurs were +13 from the free throw line and are off to their best start since 2019-20 — a clear sign that Wembanyama’s dominance is translating into early wins.
