NBA props for Tuesday, March 5: Luka's on a heater

I was wrong on my Chicago Bulls props but right on everyone else last night. The result, was a 2-2 record and a very small profit to roll over. Chicago somehow did beat the Kings on the road last night but I should have gone points with Dosunmu. Washington guard Tyus Jones almost cashed his points prop in the first quarter. You gotta love those.

Tonight there are nine games on the schedule, highlighted by Phoenix at Denver. The Cavs are hosting the Celtics in a game where we see if they have any chance of being a threat in the playoffs.

NBA Props for Tuesday, March 5

Luka Doncic More Assists than Ty Haliburton (+120)

Haliburton is first in the NBA in assists. Doncic is third. I am leaning into Luka here because Haliburton has not been the same player he was before his injury. In three of his last four games, he has not had more than eight assists. Meanwhile, Luka is on a heater with at least 10 assists in four straight games, and at home his assist rate is up. The pricing feels off here.

Josh Green Over 3.5 Rebounds (+130)

This is a fantastic payoff for average production. With Indiana coming to town the pace will quicken. Just as important, look for the very athletic Green to have the primary responsibility of guarding Haliburton. That should create a minutes spike. He has bested this total in three of the past five games and is more productive in starting roles.

Kelly Olynyk Over 12.5 Points (+115) Alt Line

The Raptors traded for Kelly O and just extended him. He is capable of scoring inside and out and with an injury to Toronto's starting center, Jakob Poeltl, he suddenly finds himself the only legitimate big in the Toronto lineup. Also, with Scottie Barnes, and Bruce Brown out too, there is an opportunity for several Toronto players to increase their production.

Gary Trent Jr. Over 2.5 Three Pointers (+100)

The aforementioned injuries help maximize the playing time for Trent too. He is an accomplished shooter and has taken at least five three-pointers in each of the last seven games. The shot volume is there and Trent is a little sharper at Scotiabank Arena than at home. They will need his bombs to keep them in the game as a home underdog.
