Victor Wembanyama’s second NBA season displayed his rise to stardom before injuries disrupted his momentum. The San Antonio Spurs center averaged 24.3 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 3.8 blocks per game, numbers that showcased his elite presence at both ends of the floor. He led the league in blocked shots, delivered highlight scoring performances, and solidified himself as one of the brightest young stars.
However, a blood clot in his shoulder cut his season short in February, forcing the Spurs to shut him down. Since then, he has been cleared to return and focused on strength training ahead of a crucial third year. Now, as he prepares for another season in the NBA, Wembanyama has some news for NBA fans.
On Tuesday, Wembanyama revealed that he will take part in a French animated series titled Alien Dunk. The project, announced by Variety, is being developed by PSG Entertainment in collaboration with French network TF1.
“Thrilled to be part of ‘Alien Dunk,’” Wembanyama said. “Seeing myself animated is an incredible experience, and it brings together two things I love: basketball and space. The most exciting part is creating a universe for kids to enjoy, filled with fun, imagination, and inspiration for young fans all over the world.”

The series will feature Wembanyama in animated form and is aimed at younger audiences, blending fantasy elements with basketball to highlight creativity and sport together. For Wembanyama, this is a continuation of his expanding influence beyond the NBA. Already an All-Star and one of the league’s premier defensive forces, he now adds a new dimension to his profile with entertainment and youth culture.
This latest venture comes after a season that ended prematurely due to health concerns. The Spurs’ decision to rule him out for the rest of the 2024-25 season was precautionary, but it has left fans eager to see his return.
The Spurs enter the 2025-26 season with a much improved roster on paper, compared to last season. Alongside Wembanyama and veteran guard D’Aaron Fox, San Antonio fans are anticipating the debut of 2025 second overall pick, Dylan Harper.
Wembanyama led the league in blocks last season and has been compared to some of the best rim protectors in history. This season marks his first opportunity for a full, healthy run alongside Fox, with Spurs fans hoping the duo can elevate the team into playoff contention. On the court, Wembanyama remains the centerpiece of San Antonio’s long-term vision, and the team will hope he can take that third year leap and help the Spurs return to championship contention.
