NBA Team Kevin Durant Wants to Play for 'Not Going to Go All in' to Trade for Him

Kevin Durant wants the Phoenix Suns to trade him to the Houston Rockets, Miami Heat or San Antonio Spurs.

However, since Durant doesn't have a no-trade clause in his contract, the Suns can trade the future Hall of Famer anywhere.

Durant, 36, has one year left on his contract. He averaged 26.6 points for the Suns this season while shooting 52.7% from the field, 43.0% from 3 and 83.9% from the free-throw line.

A 15-time All-Star, Durant turns 37 in September. The Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cameron Johnson and four unprotected future first-round picks to acquire Durant from the Brooklyn Nets in 2023.

Phoenix is not expected to get a huge return for Durant because of his age and the fact he has one year left on his contract.

The Spurs are Durant's No. 1 preferred landing spot, but they are "not going to go all in" to trade for KD, according to one NBA reporter.

“Well, it’s again the question of does Kevin change his stance on any of the teams not on his list. Now, I keep making this distinction," Sam Amick of The Athletic said on Sactown Sports 1140. "My understanding, like you have the list and that's like the thing his camp chooses to leak to the media. And then you have like the real stuff where what Kevin is telling people.

"And we’ve come across some of that stuff and there’s reason to believe he’s looking at San Antonio above the rest. Now, as you know, Dave, because you and I lived it with the (De'Aaron) Fox trade, we just saw how the Spurs had zero intention or willingness to give up anything on their roster, let alone anybody in their young core.

"I don’t know that that has changed all that much. The way it’s put to me, they’re not going to go all in to get Kevin."

The Spurs missed the playoffs again this year, but they have the second overall pick in this year’s NBA draft, All-Stars Victor Wembanyama and De'Aaron Fox and the 2025 Rookie of the Year in Stephon Castle.

San Antonio's future appears to be extremely bright, so it makes sense that its front office isn't that motivated to trade for Durant.
