The Boston Celtics failed to repeat as NBA champions as they were eliminated in the second round at the hands of the New York Knicks.
Following their elimination from the 2025 NBA Playoffs, many questions have been asked of the Boston Celtics.
This includes possibly breaking up the entire core, outside of maybe their cornerstone superstar, Jayson Tatum.
Speaking of trade rumors, the Celtics are likely to get immense interest from NBA teams for Jaylen Brown and Derrick White.
Keeping that in mind, NBA insider Shams Charania has indeed confirmed that teams are ‘throwing crazy offers’ at the dynamic duo.
“I’m sure teams are throwing crazy offers for guys like Jaylen Brown and Derrick White,” Charania said on the Pat McAfee Show.
Throwing offers is one thing, but are the Celtics interested in parting ways with their elite players?
“It will take a pretty insurmountable package to get those guys out of Boston,” Charania stated.
Keeping the recent Desmond Bane trade in mind, any package that doesn’t include a surplus of draft assets alongside quality players wouldn’t likely receive any interest from the Celtics.

With Tatum expected to miss the majority of the season, it’s unlikely that the Celtics can compete for an NBA Championship next season.
On top of that, they have an incredibly expensive core, and things are expected to get worse for the team as the Celtics are projected to be over the second apron in the 2025-26 season.
With the Celtics getting sold, it’s very possible that the new ownership won’t want to pay that much money in salary to the current core.
In that case, not only Brown and White, but there’s a possibility that the Celtics could also trade Jrue Holiday. Lastly, if the trio of Brown, White, and Holiday is gone, it hardly makes any sense to keep Kristaps Porzingis on the roster.
So, fans shouldn’t be surprised if the Celtics decide to part ways with every major star on the roster apart from Tatum and build a new core around him in the summer of 2026.
