Nets bringing back Grant Nelson on two-way deal

Grant Nelson is headed back to the Nets, as the 7-foot forward has agreed to a two-way contract, agent Max Wiepking told Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

Nelson, who went undrafted out of Alabama in 2025, spent most of last season with the Long Island Nets. He averaged 11.1 points and 6.0 rebounds in 23 G League appearances while shooting 54.9 percent from the field.

That earned Nelson a 10-day contract with Brooklyn in February. He appeared in four games, totaling 17 points, six rebounds and five assists in 35 minutes.

His season ended early because of patellar tendinitis, but apparently the Nets saw enough to want another look.

Nelson will fill Brooklyn’s third and final two-way spot, joining Chaney Johnson and Tyler Bilodeau. Two-way players can appear in as many as 50 NBA games during the regular season.

So Nelson gets another opportunity, and Brooklyn gets to keep developing a player it already knows well.
